Egyptian Critics Association award, named after the Egyptian critic Samir Farid, whose jury consisted of Mr. Farouq Abdel Khalek, Ms. Soheir Fahmy and Mr. Khaled Abdel Aziz, and the award went to Wallay by Berni Goldblat from Burkina Faso

STEP Award for development of a long narrative film ($5000), whose jury consisted of director and screenwriter Amir Ramesis, producer Farouq Abdel Khalek and critc Hala el mawy, was awarded to the project You Will Die at Twenty, Egyptian-Sudanese co-production, to be directed by Amgad Abo El Alaa and produced by Hossam Elwan.
